Shift Dress Decision

My mom has generously offered to make me a shift dress as I have been coveting a custom one for many years. I can’t seem to find a vintage one that fits me just right.

When we were chatting about this over the phone I said “I want one like what Jackie wore on her trip to India with her sister.”

Luckily my mom knows exactly what I was talking about and later that day sent me a link to this Habitually Chic blog post!!

Perfect inspirations images, right?

So now I need to pick out a fabric and I’m totally lost. Linen or Silk? Neutral color or bright pastel? I have about 4 vintage black dresses in similar shapes so black is out. Help friends, I want this dress to last a lifetime.

Do they still have silk shantung fabric?
How well I remember Jackie’s dresses and little
kitten heels. She was my idol.

Go with Linen it is ageless. If I remember correctly she wore a lot of it.
