I’ve been trying to find fashion inspiration on Pinterest for my cold weather holiday travel destinations. I am determined not to over pack this year, one small bag for 10 days. Currently obsessed with the all black trend, it’s going to make packing so easy.

If you guys are like me and have an entire draw full of striped shirts you are probably dusting them off right about now. They are like snowflakes, each unique in there own way, there fore you can NEVER have too many. Here are some fun ways style up your Breton stripes for summer.

Inspired by the “pop of neon on crystal earring trend” seen at J.Crew, I had a flash of creative courage. “I can make those for $5, I’ll paint them myself” I thought.
I bought a selection of crystal earrings at Forever 21 which cost about $3 a pair and some fun colored acrylic paints.
Then I carefully painted the earrings using a tiny brush.
Here are some after the first coat. I found that it took about 5 hours for the acrylic to dry enough for a second coat. If you were to replicate this project I would not recommend using acrylic paints, they were messy and clunky on the “stones.” I would next try nail polish or glass paint which I think will adhere better and give you that luminous quality you want from these earrings.
The finished products in the sun light. I have been wearing my pair (the rest were gifted) and getting lots of compliments. I can’t wait to try this project again with better paints and more artistic restraint (I liked my first coat versions better, always so hard to know when to stop!)
Lulu Frost for J.Crew
This is my inspiration for the next batch.
Currently crushing on pretty pink accents for my home and wardrobe. February is thematicly the most appropriate month to welcome a little of this flush colored hue into your life so I’m going for it.
All images form Pinterest. I’m ready for a pop of vivid color as winter starts to whisper about spring.
A few unconventional favorites from last nights Golden Globes that really caught my eye…
Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta stuns in this peachy hue but her tangerine lip and funky burnt orange feather clutch makes this look more fashion forward!
Michelle Dockery in an elegant Alexandre Vauthier dress, Lady Mary can do no wrong in my book.
I know no one else liked this but I LOVE the pattern and shape of the Carolina Herrera dress on Lucy Liu.
Check out Born & Bread for their favs from last night and tell me what dress you loved.
Wishing you a happy New Year filled with health, wealth, joy and grace!
A & O
After taking a second look at the fall fashion inspiration I’ve been collecting… I see a skinny leg theme. Sigh. Will just have to rock these looks with my real person thighs and be ok with it.
Maybe I should read some Tom Robbins to go with my skinny leg looks. Up first on my to wear list; white jeans with black boots and navy blazer.
Every fall I get a hankering to cut my hair short for a more sophisticated look. I think a messy shoulder length bob is tres chic and always in fashion.
This is what my hair looks like from the back at present (love my American Apparel bow clip).
Thinking of chopping it like this cutie (not the color just the cut.) Is this a terrible idea?
If, like me, you feel festive but not ready for an all-out costume.
And yes, navy and black make happy when done right. Don’t you agree?
My pal Mary had on the most enviable pair of quilted nude ballet flats at dinner last night.
Office Nude Cap Toe
My best purchase of 2011 was a pair of nude ballet flats I found on sale at J.Crew in Portland. They are my go to to make an outfit look chic. They LITERALLY match everything. If you don’t have a pair of nude flats her are some current favs…
